What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is known as the quiet practice, attending to the forgotten inner realms. There are no standing postures, each one held for 3-5 minutes. We use the breath as a vehicle to connect, mind body and spirit. In this restful state, we are given the opportunity to ease and release deeply held tension in the physical body.

Yin energy is calming, cooling, introspective, nurturing, receiving, an ode to the feminine. Its opposite, yang energy, action oriented, giving, warming, the embodiment of masculine energy.

Most yoga practices work with the yang energy, building heat in the body, working with the muscles. In yin yoga the body remains cool, allowing us to get deep into the connective tissues.

During the class my intention is to assist in creating a safe, sacred space to easily release and allow the flow of energy through the body, creating a healing experience. Each class begins with a tune in meditation to connect and ground. In addition, sprinkled throughout the hour a combination of essential oils, which help ease and relax the body and psyche, along with assists and light massage. I'm open to communicating about any concerns or answering any questions. I look forward to seeing you in class sometime!

These classes are open to the public and are donation based.
